December 13, 2017, Kyiv - The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine officially began the process of selecting international partners for joint management of the Ukrainian gas transportation system. The relevant decision was adopted today at a Government sitting.
Prior consultation will be conducted with foreign operators of the gas transportation system that meet the requirements specified in part one of Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Gas Market". On the basis of analysis of this information, conditions will be prepared for the competition to attract one or more GTS partners to PJSC "Maine Gas Pipelines of Ukraine".
Accordingly, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine within a ten-day period to inform foreign operators of the gas transportation system about such consultations.
By the same decision, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has created a Working Group, which will be engaged in the search and selection of international partners for the joint management of the Ukrainian GTS. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kystion was appointed the Chairman of the Working Group.
It includes the Minister and other representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development, a member of the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, acting Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC "MGU", acting Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety , Member of the NKRECP, representatives of the European Commission and the Secretariat of the Energy Community, the US Embassy in Ukraine.
